The Buffalo Bills make the short trip to Pennsylvania this Sunday, December 13 to square off against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles bounced back from a beating at the hands of the Detroit Lions in the Motor City two weeks ago to drop the New England Patriots 35-28 in week 13 and snap their three-game losing skid. They sit tied for second place in the NFC East with the New York Giants at 5-7 and still have a shot at climbing over Washington for the division lead. The Bills are also still in the playoff race after downing the Houston Texans 30-21 last week. They enter the game with a 6-6 record and currently sit in third place in the AFC East.

Buffalo quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw three touchdown passes and for 211 yards against Houston as he went 11 for 21 last week. The Bills head into this week’s game with a 3-0 record against the spread in their last three visits to the City of Brotherly Love and 2-1 straight up. The Bills’ offense was clicking against the Texans as wideout Sammy Watkins gained 109 yards on three receptions and scored a touchdown. Watkins may have gotten off to a sluggish start to the campaign, but has picked things up by averaging 97.6 yards in his last five outings.

LeSean McCoy also chipped in with 21 carries for 112 yards and leads the squad with 792 yards this year. If Taylor, McCoy and Watkins can keep up their fine play then the Bills chances of making the postseason will certainly look a lot better. They’ll be facing a Philadelphia defense which ranks just 25th in the link by allowing 24.9 points against per game. The Eagles rushing defense ranks 28th and their passing defense in 21st. The Bills need to depend on their offense since their defense has been mediocre this year. The team concedes only 23.2 points against per contest, but allows 359.7 yards each week to rank 20th in the league.
The Eagles surprised most people last week by upsetting New England on the road in Foxborough and will be aiming to make it two in a row against Buffalo. The Eagles’ special teams and defense played well against the Patriots and held the reigning Super Bowl champions in check. The special teams chipped in with a pair of touchdowns as Najee Goode scored from a blocked punt and Malcolm Jenkins ran 99 yards for a touchdown after picking off a Tom Brady pass. The Eagles intercepted Brady twice and sacked him on four occasions for a 24 yard loss in total.

Quarterback Sam Bradford returned to the Eagles after missing a pair of games and went 14 for 24 in passing for 120 yards. DeMarco Murray carried the ball eight times, but only managed to pick up 24 yards for his efforts. He’ll need a better performance against the Bills even though he still leads his team in rushing with 545 yards. The Eagles head into this game with a 2-2 record against the spread in their last four home fixtures, but will have a tough time beating the Bills.
