Leicester City’s miracle season continues this weekend when they host fellow English Premier League club Southampton at King Power Stadium on Sunday, April 3. Both teams have just seven games to go in the current 2015/16 season, meaning there’s still 21 points up for grabs for each squad. Leicester is aiming for its first-ever Premier League title while Southampton is trying to finish strongly and place in the top four. Southampton has climbed up to seventh place in the table with 47 points from 13 wins, eight draws and 10 losses. They’ve scored 41 times and have allowed 32 goals against. They’re just four points behind fourth-place Manchester City, but City has a game in hand. They also trail West Ham and Manchester United by three points. Southampton came back from a 2-0 deficit to Liverpool in their last league match two weeks ago to win 3-2. The Saints have five wins on the road along with five draws and five defeats while scoring 13 goals and conceding 14. They have six clean sheets on the road and 12 overall while they’ve failed to score six times away from home and on nine occasions overall. Southampton has three wins, two losses and a draw in their past six road fixtures.
Leicester has a five-point lead over second-place Tottenham Hotspur and is 11 points up on third-place Arsenal. They have four wins and a draw in their past five league fixtures with all four victories being 1-0. Southampton is looking to make it three straight wins and could prove to be a difficult opponent for the league leaders.
