One of the most attractive English Premier League clashes this weekend is the Chelsea vs Manchester City tilt at Stamford Bridge in London on Saturday, April 16. Chelsea’s reign as league champions will come to an end next month as there’s no possible way they can catch league-leading Leicester City with just six games to go in the campaign. Chelsea is still mathematically able to catch fourth-place Man City and earn a berth in the European Champions League, but it’s not likely and it means they have no choice but to beat City on Saturday. They enter the weekend in fourth place in the Premier League with 57 points from 17 wins, six draws ad nine losses with 58 goals for and 33 against. 5-2City has six victories on the road along with five draws and four defeats with 17 goals for and 14 against. They’ve recorded nine clean sheets away from the Etihad Stadium and have been shut out six times. Overall, City has posted 14 clean sheets and has failed to score on eight occasions. They have three wins, two draws and a loss on their past six road trips.

Chelsea’s best hopes for Europe will be to finish in the top six for a spot in the 2016/17 Europa League, but they’re still eight points behind sixth-place West Ham United. The London team has six draws in their seven home matches in league play since Holland’s Guus Hiddink took over as manager from Jose Mourinho. The other game was a 5-1 hammering of Newcastle United.
