The Browns have had a forgetful season and weren’t really in the game in Seattle last week. They failed to contain Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson as he managed to become the first quarterback in NFL history to throw at least three touchdown passes in five straight contests with no interceptions. That loss was the eighth in the past nine attempts for the Browns. Cleveland will need its offense to be firing on all cylinders if they hope to take down the Chiefs. They totaled just 230 yards of offense and 13 points last week. They also score the league’s fourth-lowest total of 18.1 points per week this season.
Quarterback Johnny Manziel struggled in Seattle as he gained just 161 yards in the air by going 19 for 32 in passing. He threw for a touchdown and was picked off once as well. He’ll need to be better against Kansas City since the Chiefs concede an average of only 18.4 points each outing, which is the third-lowest total in the league. Cleveland enters the game with a mark of 2-5 against the spread on their travels so far this campaign.
Kansas scored a big win over Baltimore last week and one of the hottest teams in the league with eight straight victories. The Chiefs have turned things around after opening the season at 1-5 and are the first club in NFL history to lose five straight contests and then win eight in a row during the same campaign. Quarterback Alex Smith completed 21 of his 25 pass attempts for a touchdown and 171 yards. Jeremy Maclin and Charcandrick West also had good games as West ran for 76 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries and Maclin had a touchdown and 50 yards on seven catches.

The Chiefs have been playing good defense and scored 21 points on a trio of Ravens’ errors in the first half. Kansas City didn’t turn the ball over against Baltimore and have given the ball away in just two of their past eight games. The Chiefs will be facing a Cleveland defense which allows an average of 387.9 yards per contest, which is the sixth-most in the league. Kansas City has gone 3-3 against the spread at Arrowhead Stadium this season and should extend their winning streak to nine games on Sunday.
