The Chicago Bears will be paying a visit to the state of Washington this Sunday, September 27 when they take on the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field. The Seahawks have shot themselves in the foot so far this season and have arrived in Seattle for their first home game of the campaign with an 0-2 record. The Bears are also in the same boat with an 0-2 mark, so somebody should get their first win of the year on Sunday. The Bears are coming off a 48-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in week two while Seattle dropped a 27-17 decision to the Green Bay Packers.

Thirty-two-year-old Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler is under fire again this season as many fans believe the team would be better off without him. Cutler suffered a hamstring injury against the Cardinals and may be forced to sit out against the Seahawks. Backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen replaced Cutler in the game and went 14 for 23 in the passing department as he racked up 121 yards and was picked off once. He fumbled a possession and was also sacked a couple of times. So, perhaps fans who want to see Cutler leave town will be thinking twice at the moment since Clausen doesn’t seem to be the answer to the team’s woes.
Clausen could use as much help as possible and Alshon Jeffery may return to the lineup to give him a hand after missing the game against Arizona with a hamstring problem. The receiver caught five passes for 78 yards in Chicago’s 31-23 season-opening loss to the Green Bay Packers. Matt Forte scored a touchdown and ran for 141 yards against the Packers, but managed just 61 yards against the Cardinals. The Bears have one of the best passing defenses in the league at the moment with 187 yards against on average in their first two outings. However, they’ve conceded a league-worst seven touchdown passes at the same time.
The Seahawks are also struggling and have dropped their first two games for the first time since the 2011 campaign. The defending NFC champions will be glad to be playing at home since they’ve earned victories in their past seven encounters in Seattle. The Seahawks are missing strong safety Kam Chancellor as the squad is allowing 276 passing yards against per game, which is up from their average of 185.6 last season. Seattle had trouble with Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the aerial attack last week. Rodgers had his way by throwing for a pair of touchdowns and 234 yards. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson also passed for a pair of touchdowns as well as an interception in his 206 yards. Newcomer Jimmy Graham wasn’t very visible as he caught just one pass for 11 yards.
Graham should be more of a target for Wilson this weekend since the Bears don’t put much pressure on their opponents’ quarterbacks as they’ve gone without a sack so far. Marshawn Lynch will be looking forward to the game as well since Chicago’s defense is relatively weak against the run. The Bears have allowed an average of 124 rushing yards against this season, which ranks them 22nd in the league. Seattle is both 4-1 against the spread and straight up in their past five meetings with Chicago and should win their first game of the season on Sunday.
